Registration is closed for flights A and B of Event 9, a $250,000 guarantee re-entry event with a 2014 Chrysler 300S added to the prize pool ($25,000 cash option). The 4 p.m. opener drew 283 entries while this evening’s 7 p.m. flight topped out at 212. Through two flights, the field stands at 494 entries. Flights C, D and E begin Sunday at 1 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.
A spin off the re-entry opening event, players are permitted to play multiple Day 1s in Event 9 and receive a $3,500 bonus for each Day 2 they advance to after their first. Players who earn the double qualifier bonus forfeit the smallest of their stacks and the player who forfeits the most chips through the five starting flights earns a $10,000 WSOP Main Event seat and $2,000 cash. The players who forfeit the second and third most chips meanwhile, earn $5,000 cash.
Day 1s pay the standard 10 percent of the starting field but play down to 4 percent. Pending no double eliminations, a total of 11 entries will advance from Day 1A and eight from Day 1B. All Day 2 players are in the money.
