The 2015 CPC Thus Far — Seven New Winners, Six $10,000 WSOP Seats Still up in the Air

The 2015 Chicago Poker Classic kicked off just over one week ago with Event 1, a $360 NLH tournament with six starting flights, extended payouts and three $2,000 CPC Main Event seats added. Chicago’s own Zal Irani bested the 2,296-player field to the tune of $100,000 and his second CPC victory.

“I couldn’t pick any other place I’d want to play,” Irani said following the win. “Las Vegas in the summer is fun for the World Series [of Poker], but coming into [the Horseshoe], honestly it reminds me of playing football in high school. I walk in here and it feels like home. I couldn’t ask for anything better. It’s hard not feeling pretty confident being in this place.”

Since Irani’s victory, six more players joined him as CPC champions including Chicago police officer Michael Younan and Bluff Magazine’s 2010 Online Player of the Year William Slaght, Jr.

While seven events are in the books, three more remain to be decided. Additionally, the Horseshoe put up six $10,000 WSOP Main Event seats set to be doled out in postlim and non-numbered events.

Here’s a look at the winners thus far followed by a look at the events still to come:
